Here’s this year’s volunteer board. Reach out, we’d love to hear from you!
Co-Presidents
Alissa Ashley-High
Why I volunteer: I want to be a part of my children’s education and the PTO allows me that opportunity. We took advantage of the majority of programs and activities the PTO offered, so I decided volunteering was a great way to get involved and give back.
What I do when I’m not volunteering for the PTO? I am a fulltime healthcare administrator and also have a nursing license. I volunteer on the boards of several professional organizations like the Medical Group Management Organization (MGMA) and American Alliance of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE).
Greer Croxford
Why I volunteer: I volunteer so that I can be involved in my children’s education at Spring Street School. I also volunteer to help plan and envision the community building and enrichment activities that benefit the Spring Street Community as a whole.
What I do when I’m not volunteering for the PTO? I am a lawyer and I work in public policy for the Office of Public Safety and Inspections for the Commonwealth.
Vice President
Shannon Wall
Why I volunteer? I love being involved with the school community! Being on the PTO Board enables me to stay connected, support the school, and work with other parents during non-work hours.
What I do when I’m not volunteering for the PTO? I’ve been in sales for most of my career and I currently work for MathWorks. In my free time, you’ll likely to catch me on a hiking trail, walking in the park with my family and Bernedoodle, or at the Botanical Gardens.
Secretary
Emily Iannello
Why I volunteer? Being new to the community, the PTO is a good way for me to get to know faculty and parents at school and to get involved with my kids’ education. I will have my last incoming kindergartener in fall of 2024, so we will have a long tenure at Spring Street!
What I do when I’m not volunteering for the PTO? I have my master’s in counseling and work full-time for a telehealth company doing Advance Care Planning over the phone. We spend our weekends visiting with family in different parts of New England, and we love catching almost any sport.
Treasurer
Ben Cooper
Why I volunteer? Hi, my name is Ben and I’ve lived here in Shrewsbury for a year and a half. I first became active at Spring Street Elementary by volunteering to run Chess Club. Now I’m the PTO Treasurer and I sit on the Board.
What I do when I’m not volunteering for the PTO? In addition to volunteering for the PTO, I also enjoy coaching my two sons’ sports teams. I find it particularly rewarding to help young athletes develop skills that will serve them well on and off the field. In my spare time, I enjoy investing, playing guitar, running, and SCUBA diving.
